Growing Through Service
Rooted in service. Connected through fellowship.
Chartered on 24 May 1957, the Rotary Club of Shillong is one of Meghalaya’s long-standing service clubs. Our club is part of Rotary International’s District 3240 and is identified by Club ID 16194.
Meeting and fellowship
The club meets every Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Rotary Corner, The Shillong Club Ltd., Shillong. Our meetings bring members together to plan service, exchange ideas and strengthen fellowship.
Our story
Since its charter, the club has brought together people from varied professions in a shared commitment to service. Through local partnerships and Rotary programmes, members have worked to support healthier, more educated and more resilient communities across Shillong and the wider region.
Our areas of service
- Community development and support for local partners
- Health, disease prevention and care
- Clean drinking water, sanitation and environmental stewardship
- Literacy, education and e-learning
- Vocational service and skills development
- Youth leadership, Rotaract, Interact and exchange
- Rotary Foundation programmes, grants and international fellowship
The Four-Way Test
Rotarians use this practical guide in the things they think, say or do:
- Is it the truth?
- Is it fair to all concerned?
- Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
- Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Service Above Self remains the spirit that brings our members together.
Our 2026–27 programme brings together community service, education, health, environmental action, youth development and fellowship. Activities are listed on the Events page and will be updated as plans are confirmed.
